Immunizations/Health Clinic Services

Childhood Immunizations

There are many ways to protect children as they grow. Car seats and play yards provide just some of the protection every baby deserves. But when it comes to protection against certain childhood diseases, the medical community strongly recommends vaccinations.

Getting your child vaccinated according to the appropriate protective schedule is important. Current recommendations call for immunization against 15 vaccine preventable diseases. Depending on the vaccine, children will receive vaccinations anywhere between birth and 18 years of age.

The 15 preventable diseases for which there are vaccines are:

  • Hepatitis B
  • Diphtheria
  • Tetanus
  • Pertussis
  • Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib)
  • Meningococcal diseas (Meningitis)
  • Polio
  • Human Papillomavirus (HPV)

  • Pneumococcal Disease (Pneumonia)
  • Measles
  • Mumps
  • Rubella (German Measles)
  • Varicella (Chicken Pox)
  • Hepatitis A
  • Rotovirus

Childhood influenza vaccine is also available at specific time during the year.

The Health Services section offers childhood immunizations weekly through scheduled clinics. Please call 970-874-2165 for an appointment.

Adult Immunizations

Many adults think that “shots” or immunizations are just for kids. But, disease has no age limits, and adults need protection too. In fact, there are some immunizations which are more important for adults than for children. There are 8 diseases against which all or many adults need to receive immunizations.

Those 8 diseases are:

  • Influenza
  • Pneumococcal Disease (Pneumonia)
  • Hepatitis A & B
  • Tetanus
  • Diphtheria

  • Rubella
  • Pertussis
