Sexually Transmitted Infections

To prevent the transmission of and provide for the treatment of sexually transmitted infections.

Sexually transmitted infections are at epidemic proportions in the United States. Five of the ten top reportable diseases in the United States are sexually transmitted infections. It is estimated that 1 in 4 people have been exposed to a sexually transmitted disease.

In America, the STD epidemic has been labeled the “Hidden Epidemic” because of the public’s reluctance to address sexual health issues; the associated biological and social factors; and the scope, impact and consequences of STDs being under-recognized by both the public and health care providers.

The Delta County Health Department provides screening tests and treatment for sexually transmitted infections to people over the age of 12. All services are strictly confidential.

Please call the Delta County Health Department for further information or an appointment at 970-874-2165.
